Things to Do in Antalya: 2026 Travel Guide & 3, 5 and 7-Day Itineraries
When people think of Antalya, the first things that usually come to mind are the sea, sunshine and hotels. But Antalya is much more than just a summer holiday destination. It’s one of Turkey’s most popular tourist cities, with ancient cities, waterfalls, beautiful bays, historic streets, beaches and plenty of nature to explore.
You can spend the morning walking through the old streets of Kaleiçi, go for a swim at Konyaaltı Beach a few hours later, and the next day find yourself exploring the ancient ruins of Phaselis right next to the Mediterranean.
That’s why, when planning a trip to Antalya, the real question usually isn’t “Where should I go?” It’s more like, “How am I supposed to choose from all these places?”
In this guide, I’ll take you through some of the best places to visit in Antalya, where you might want to stay, and how you can plan your trip depending on whether you have 3, 5 or 7 days.
Places You Should Definitely Visit in Antalya
1. Kaleiçi
If it’s your first time in Antalya, Kaleiçi should definitely be one of your first stops.
It’s the historic heart of the city, full of narrow stone streets, traditional houses, small boutique hotels, restaurants and little streets leading down towards the marina.
Hadrian’s Gate, the Yivli Minaret and Kaleiçi Marina are all close enough to explore as part of the same route.
Kaleiçi is also a great area to stay if you like exploring on foot and want restaurants, cafés and nightlife within easy reach in the evening.
2. Konyaaltı Beach
If you want to enjoy the Mediterranean without travelling too far from the city centre, Konyaaltı is one of the easiest choices.
The beach stretches for kilometres, so it’s not only great for swimming. You can walk or cycle along the seafront, grab a coffee, or simply stay for the sunset.
It’s also easy to combine Konyaaltı with Antalya Museum and other places around the city centre on the same day.
3. Düden Waterfalls
Düden Waterfalls are one of Antalya’s best-known natural attractions and a lovely way to add a bit of nature to a city-based trip.
My favourite part is Lower Düden, where the water falls directly from the cliffs into the Mediterranean. It’s one of those views that instantly feels like Antalya.
It’s also relatively easy to reach from the city, so you don’t need to dedicate an entire day to it.
4. Lara
Lara is one of Antalya’s most popular areas, with its coastline, cliffs, parks, restaurants and plenty of places to stay.
It’s a good choice if you want a beach holiday but still want to be close to city life.
If you haven’t decided where to stay yet, you can also check PinLodge’s guide, “The 5 Best Areas to Stay in Antalya”, where I compare some of the main areas in more detail.
5. Perge Ancient City
Antalya isn’t only about beaches. The region has an incredible amount of history as well.
Perge is one of the most important archaeological sites close to Antalya city centre. You can explore remains from the Roman period, including its theatre, stadium and impressive columned streets.
If you enjoy history, it’s definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
6. Aspendos Ancient Theatre
Aspendos is home to one of Antalya’s most impressive historic structures: its famous Roman theatre.
If you’re interested in history, I’d recommend combining Perge and Aspendos on the same day. They work really well together and make for a full day outside the city centre.
7. Phaselis Ancient City
Ancient ruins on one side, the Mediterranean on the other.
That’s exactly what makes Phaselis different.
You can explore the ruins and then spend some time by the sea, which means you don’t have to choose between a history day and a beach day. You can have both.
8. Olympos
If you want nature, history and the sea all in one place, Olympos is one of the most popular options around Antalya.
The ancient city, beach and surrounding nature give it a completely different atmosphere from Antalya’s large resort areas.
You can also combine Olympos with nearby Çıralı for a full-day trip, or stay overnight if you want a slower experience.
9. Çıralı
Çıralı is very close to Olympos and is a great option if you’re looking for somewhere a little quieter.
If you’re staying in Antalya for several days and want to escape the busy city centre for a while, Çıralı gives you a much calmer coastal experience surrounded by nature.
10. Side Ancient City
If you’re travelling towards the eastern side of Antalya, Side is another place worth adding to your plan.
You’ll find ancient ruins, the Temple of Apollo and the seaside all within the same area, so once again, you get that lovely Antalya combination of history and the Mediterranean.
How Many Days Do You Need in Antalya?
There isn’t really one answer to this because Antalya is huge.
If you mainly want to explore central areas such as Kaleiçi, Konyaaltı, Lara and Düden, 2–3 days can be enough.
If you also want to see ancient cities and travel towards Kemer, Phaselis and Olympos, I’d give yourself around 5 days.
And if you want to include places further away, such as Kaş, Kalkan or Side, then 7 days or more will give you a much more comfortable trip.
The biggest mistake you can make in Antalya is looking at everything on a map and thinking it’s all close together. It isn’t. Antalya covers a very large area, so planning your days by location makes a huge difference.
3-Day Antalya Itinerary
If it’s your first visit and you only have three days, I wouldn’t try to fit absolutely everything in. It makes much more sense to explore places that are close to each other.
Day 1: Kaleiçi → Hadrian’s Gate → Marina → Karaalioğlu Park → evening in Kaleiçi
Day 2: Konyaaltı → Antalya Museum → beach → sunset
Day 3: Düden Waterfalls → Lara → cliffs → evening in Lara
This is also a good starting itinerary if you don’t want to hire a car and mainly want to explore central Antalya.
5-Day Antalya Itinerary
With five days, you can start exploring beyond the city centre.
I’d keep the first three days similar to the itinerary above and then add:
Day 4: Perge → Aspendos
Day 5: Phaselis → Kemer
This gives you a much better balance between city life, beaches, nature and history.
7-Day Antalya Itinerary
If you have a full week, you can explore Antalya much more comfortably.
Day 1: Kaleiçi and Antalya city centre Day 2: Konyaaltı and Antalya Museum Day 3: Lara and Düden Waterfalls Day 4: Perge and Aspendos Day 5: Phaselis and Kemer Day 6: Olympos and Çıralı Day 7: Side or another coastal/nature route
The important thing here is to keep nearby places together. Trying to visit completely different parts of Antalya on the same day can easily mean spending a big part of your holiday in the car.
Where Should You Stay in Antalya?
Where you stay can completely change your Antalya experience, especially when it comes to travel time.
If you want history, restaurants and somewhere you can explore on foot, Kaleiçi is a great choice.
If you want both the city and the beach, have a look at Konyaaltı.
If you prefer the sea, cliffs and a more modern part of the city, Lara could work better.
For nature, beaches and easy access to places such as Phaselis, Kemer is worth considering.
And if your idea of an Antalya holiday is mainly about resorts, hotels and relaxing by the pool, Belek might suit you better.
You can find a more detailed comparison in PinLodge’s “The 5 Best Areas to Stay in Antalya” guide.
How Should You Plan Your Antalya Itinerary?
A good Antalya itinerary isn’t just a list of places you want to visit.
Where your hotel is, how much you want to spend each day, whether you have a car, who you’re travelling with, what you’re interested in and how busy you want your days to be can completely change the right route for you.
For example, a couple staying in Kaleiçi who love history shouldn’t have the same itinerary as a family staying in Lara with children who mainly want beaches and relaxed activities.
And this is exactly the idea behind PinPlan.
With PinPlan, you start by selecting the hotel you’re staying at. Then you tell the system your daily budget, who you’re travelling with, your interests and the kind of holiday you prefer.
PinPlan looks at real restaurants, cafés, beaches, museums, historic places, nature spots and other places around your hotel and creates a personalised daily itinerary for you.
So instead of simply asking:
“What are the best places to visit in Antalya?”
you can ask something much more useful:
“Starting from my hotel, with my budget, where should I go today?”
That’s the difference.
Frequently Asked Questions About Antalya
Where should I go on my first trip to Antalya?
For a first visit, I’d start with Kaleiçi, Konyaaltı, Düden Waterfalls and Lara. If you have more time, you can then add places such as Perge, Aspendos, Phaselis and Olympos.
Are 3 days enough for Antalya?
Three days can be enough to see the main places around Antalya city centre. But if you want to explore ancient cities, beaches and areas outside the centre, I’d definitely plan a longer trip.
Can you explore Antalya without a car?
Yes, especially around Kaleiçi, Konyaaltı, Lara and other central areas. Public transport can get you to many places. However, if you want to include Phaselis, Olympos and several ancient cities in your itinerary, transport becomes a much bigger part of the planning.
What is the best month to visit Antalya?
It really depends on the type of holiday you want. Summer is the busiest period for beach holidays, while spring and autumn can be great for exploring the city, ancient sites and outdoor routes.
Are there free things to do in Antalya?
Yes. You can explore Kaleiçi’s streets, walk along the coast, visit parks and enjoy several viewpoints without paying an entrance fee. Ancient cities, museums and some other attractions may have admission charges.
Explore Antalya as a Route, Not Just a List
There are dozens of places worth seeing in Antalya, but I don’t think a good holiday is about visiting as many places as possible.
It’s about finding the right places for your time, your budget and the way you like to travel — and then visiting them in the right order.
From the historic streets of Kaleiçi and the coastline of Konyaaltı to the ancient ruins of Phaselis and the nature around Olympos, there isn’t just one Antalya experience. Everyone can create a completely different trip here.
